DESCRIPTION
This course is designed for advanced paddlers looking to refine their big-volume river skills, with springtime in Montenegro providing the perfect playground. Based primarily on the Tara River, with the possibility of a day trip to the Piva River, you’ll experience a variety of sections offering high-quality Class III–IV rapids—ideal for a full week of focused coaching.
Throughout the course, we’ll develop your confidence and technique in big water, helping you handle powerful flows, read complex features, and paddle with greater precision and control.
Beyond the river, you’ll also get to enjoy Balkan cuisine and local culture, making this a unique adventure both on and off the water. This course is perfect for experienced paddlers who are enthusiastic about big-volume rivers and excited to explore somewhere a little different.

Each day includes 4–6 hours on the water, depending on group size.
PREREQUISITES
Aimed at advanced paddlers with a reliable Eskimo roll.

COURSE CONTENT
Day 1
Meet at Camp Grab for a course briefing and to get to know the team and group goals.
Morning flatwater training session.
Afternoon on the lower Tara.
Days 2–4
Various sections of the Tara River. Content will focus on big-volume paddling, including personal technique, river reading, and teamwork. Morning and afternoon sessions.
Day 5
Depending on the group’s skill level, a trip to the Piva River. Depending on flow levels, this is a Class III+–IV canyon adventure run.
