DESCRIPTION
Learn how to bring out the full potential of a creek boat. On this 5-day course, we will learn and go over all the paddling mechanics that will get you moving creek boats smoothly and efficiently, ready to hit some harder whitewater / creeking at the end of the week.

5 days
3 days in the Soča Valley, 2 away days (river and location dependent on seasonal conditions and group’s skill level). Potential for Italy, Austria, Croatia, or Slovenia.

Soča River, Slovenia, Class II–IV+ depending on group’s abilities
Last two days will be full days, with potential for away days in Austria, Italy, or Croatia, depending on group’s abilities
COURSE CONTENT
Day 1

Morning briefing over coffee: get to know the team’s goals and wishes for the week

Morning paddling session, Golobar section, Class II: going over fundamental paddling skills and how to move a creek boat as a team
Day 2

Section dependent on group’s wishes and abilities

Adding more precision training to paddling skills, using Class III to train for Class IV
Day 3

Section dependent on group’s skills and abilities

Day focus on teamwork, safe river running in a creek environment

Reading and running, scouting horizon lines, and setting up safety for crux rapids
Day 4 / Day 5

Location dependent on river conditions

Class IV runs in neighboring rivers to use all the creeking skills the team has refined over the last few days
